USS Hamilton NCC-8457

Captain Maxwell cannon was sitting down at home, exhausted after a full day of playing with his 3 year old son. His wife Tiffany had to run to get some supplies for dinner, when the doorbell rang and Max's son ran to the door as Max stood up. he immediately smiled when he saw who it was.

"Alex long time no see, how has life treated ya?" Max said as he walked over to give his old friend a hug

"Max I'm on official business ... you have been Assigned to a Intrepid class, you get to pick the name but star fleet need's to know ASAP" Alex said handing Max a Data Pad "Also .. life's been good, wife had our third child not too long ago, life's been busy. i heard you took time off to be with your child"

"Yeah well, that time isn't over for another four months, what's star fleet thinking?" Max said as he sighed.

"Well your ship has just started being built they are expecting 4 and a half months before she's ready for combat, 4 tell she's ready for her shakedown cruise"

"Well then, I'll work on the name and registry as soon as i can" Max chuckled as he went to close the door.

"Max, also ... your in the 44th fleet Beta Division" Alex smirked as he knew, from the academy day's, this was Max's Favorite Fleet from back in the day.

Max smiled and closed the door as he sat back down as his son ran over with his stuffed bear named Hamilton, Max sighed again as he stared up to the ceiling. "Well now this can get interesting."

Max threw the Pad on the Dinner table and started playing with his son as he figured he could think of a name and registry with his wife later.

A Few Hours Later

"Babe, What's this?" Tiffany asked as she picked up and looked at the Pad as she was cooking dinner.

"Well i Have been assigned a ship and i am part of the combat division of the 44th fleet Beta Division"

"Well good for you when do you start?"

"A week after my vacation is over" Max smiled as he stood up and kissed his wife.

"Eww!" She said as she pushed him back

"I kiss you, and you say eww?" Max said looking at her

"You smell!" she said as she pushed him towards the stairs "You and your son go have a shower or something"

Max chuckled as he picked up his son and headed upstairs.

12 day's later Max was laying in bed staring at his pad of all the star ship names in use at the present time. every name he could think of was already in use when he heard his Son start to cry his eyes out from the other room. Max sighed and got up and walked into the other room and saw His son's teddy Hamilton be headed and on the floor.

Max smirked but sighed at the same time, as he picked up Hamilton. His son stared up at him almost wanting daddy to fix Hamilton right there.

"No i can't, i have to think of a name for daddy's ship. daddy can't fix Hamilton right now" Max took the two pieces and went to walk out of the room, when his son grabbed his leg.

"Daddy, you can name your ship the Hamilton" Max couldn't help but snicker, they only named the bear Hamilton cause his son liked the name when he was little, and it was Max's Hometown.

"Why not ... daddy's ship will be the USS Hamilton" Max said as he headed downstairs to his computer "Computer send a message to star fleet informing them my ship will be called the USS Hamilton" The computer chimed in acknowledgment and within minutes Alex was back on the screen.

"Really Max? the USS Hamilton? Really?!"

"Hey i Couldn't think of a name and my son gave me the idea."

"So your naming a Star ship after your son's stuffed teddy?

"AND ... My hometown .... sheesh you should know that man" Max said as he walked over to his replicator "Coffee, two sugar two cream .... and a Stuffed teddy with Hamilton stitched onto the foot configuration Jon3" The computer chirped and Max's Coffee was there with his son's replacement teddy "Well that's my ship's name and that's it no discussion"

Webster: What’s the status of the fleet?

Latinumbar: Near complete, sir. Upgrades are just about done on the Vengeance and Kvasir. Repairs are completed on the Echo and Hippocrates. We lost the Blood Lust temporarily to a special assignment. The Expedition is on her way. Given the recent Klingon engagement, I’ve dispatched the Berlin to rendezvous with her, and provide escort.

Webster: Those bloody Klingons. They’re coming deeper and deeper into Federation space which each passing week. We need another starship for the fleet. We need another one that can be fitted to detect cloaked ships. Preferably one that can pack a punch too.

Latinumbar: Let me see. <pushes some buttons on the PADD in his hands>. Ahh. The USS Hamilton. She’s technically been assigned to us already, but still currently in the shipyards on Earth. But it looks like she will be completed ahead of schedule.

Webster: Who is the commanding officer?

Latinumbar: A Maxwell Cannon.

Webster: Issue orders to have him assemble a crew, and report to Starbase 817 along with the Hamilton as soon as he is able. And I’d like his Starfleet record on my desk by 0800 tomorrow.

Max was just waking up out of a very comfortable night sleep when he heard his computer chiming at him, showing he had a message.

"Computer, Display Message" Max ran his hands through his hair as his body slowly began to wake up. "Well i have to assemble a crew now don't i" Max sighed as he stood up and walked to the shower.

After many hours fighting with his wife how he should be at home spending time with them, not finding his crew. Max headed off to Star fleet Command in full uniform.

After a few hours of looking through personnel files at Star fleet Command, Alex Riley walked in with 3 more Data Padd's. "how goes the search?"

"Well after going through over five hundred personnel files i can only come up with 30 i want so far"

"Any one that has first officer potential?"

"Of Course, here he is" Max tossed the Padd containing his hopeful first Officer starfleet record at Alex

"Well Sir, I'm Pretty sure he's going to accept"

"Well that's good news .... Well Sit Down First Officer we need to talk"

"We need to refit the Hamilton so it's more Combat ready ... from her armament sure she can take a beating but she cant really dish it out. from my look .. we need a few more torpedo bay's maybe 2 more fore, and we have enough phaser banks to take down shields no problem."

"Well i will go and talk to the admiral about it and see. meanwhile get back to work"

<-3 Months Later->

"Well sir she's ready for her shakedown cruise just waiting for her crew to arrive" The Chief engineer said as Max stepped out of his shuttle craft

"Good work Ty ... now get to main engineering your my new chief engineer, here's the order from star fleet command" Max said as he took in one Deep Breath "I Love the Smell of new ship in the morning"

"Oh sorry sir ... that was me" One of the engineers over in the corner said as he shuffled uneasy over to his corner.

Max smiled as he entered the turbo lift and went to the bridge. When the turbo lift door's opened he slowly walked out and looked around, the Bridge was Everything he had hoped for.

"Captain on the bridge" Alex said as he snapped to attention

"As you were" Max said as he took the detour around the bridge checking out every station before he sat down.

"Captain all crew report aboard and ready for shakedown cruise"

"Aye, Let's get underway" Max said as he stood up and tapped his comm badge "All Hands this is your captain speaking, we are to head to sector 205 testing all speeds of warp along the way once there, Another Vessel will of set up numerous target's for us to destroy and test weapons and phaser recharge rate, and then we are due to go to Star base 817 and join up with the rest of the fleet and report for duty.

Max smiled as the stars flying past the view screen stopped and they emerged at the training grounds.

"Well then Let's go to red alert and signal the monitor probe that we're ready to begin" Max said as he sat down and all the lights dimmed and the red alert sound went off.

"Umm Captain there's something you should see" Max's Tactical Officer said

"what is it Bryan?"

"Two Ship's that were reported Derelict are powering up and coming our way"

"On screen!" Max said as he stood up, showing an old Akira class and Constitution class with lights flickering

"Report! and get me a background check on those registry codes!"

"Captain it appears that their power systems are intermittent and they cant sustain consecutive power, the constitution class failed when it's torpedo tubes refused to open and blew up, and the akira's gel packs Blew when they fired there first phaser. they were lucky there full compliment of 100 torpedo's didn't explode. they were both due to be towed out when we leave"

"well i guess we have no choice, Bryan target the constitution and fire all Phasers full intensity"

"Aye"

As the Phasers impacted the constitution every now and then a random phaser got through the shields.

"Lieutenant Report!"

"It seems the intermittent power also includes their Shields ... if we time it right we could get a Photon through and take it out."

"Then get on..." Max was interrupted as he was thrown across the room the Akira class had started launching Photons at them "Get on it!, and shield status"

"50% captain, we wont take many more hit's from their Photon's"

"Well then Bryan how's the Photon's through their shields thing going?

"Not well we need more information."

"Well then Let's get more Information ..." Max said as he walked over to the helms man.

"Let's go with Riley alpha 3 evasive Pattern"Max said as he turned around to face the tactical station"Bryan get ready to fire everything we have"

As the Hamilton Began it's Maneuvers Bryan started firing all phasers wildly at the two ships soon the Hamilton was badly beaten her Bridge in Shambles as the Akira was drifting through space venting plasma and weapons were offline, and the Constitution had lost all engines and shields.

"Well then that should do it, Let's get headed to Star base 817, we Desperately Need Repairs" Max said as he sat in his center chair, Tyler how are we for going to warp?"

"Warp 8 ready and able for a few hours at most captain"

"well i guess it's better then nothing, Beam a few corpses to the Brig in case they arent really corpses ... let's see who attacked us.
